YM Tunku Dato’ Paduka Jaafar Laksmana bin Tunku Nong Jiwa was appointed as Chairman to Affin Fund Management Berhad on 22 March 2012. He began his career as a pilot with the Royal Malaysian Air Force on 1 October 1963. He served in various commands and staff appointments until he retired on 1 January 1992. Whilst in service, he attended the Flight Instructors Course at RAAF East Sale, Victoria, Australia, Staff College at RAF Bracknell, England, USAF Air War College, Alabama USA and US Naval Post Graduate School, Monterey, California, USA. He held other notable positions including Director of Business Development in Malaysia Helicopters Services Berhad, Chief Operating Officer of TR Properties, TR Technology Resources Industries Berhad, Project Director in Perbadanan Perwira Harta Malaysia-Saudi Binladin Group-Charterbridge Joint Venture and Executive Director of Jalex Sdn. Bhd. In 2001, he joined the United Nations World Food Programme, Rome, Italy, until 2005.

Major General Dato’ Mamat Ariffin bin Haji Abdullah (R) retired from the Malaysian Armed Force since 9 June 2005 on completion of 37 years of dedicated service to the nation. His last appointment was the Commanding General of the Army Logistics Command (ALC) from 4 June 2001 until 9 March 2005. Several key and strategic units were under his command which included army mobility, communications, supplies, ammunitions, and firepower. During that period, he was also responsible and accountable for the planning, procurement, and implementation of maintenance support system of all the army strategic assets. He holds a Diploma in Strategic Studies from Armed Forces Defence College, Kuala Lumpur in 1991 and Master of Sciences in Training and Human Resources from Leicester University, UK in 1998. He has also attended the Management Development Programme at Wolfson College, University of Cambridge in 1997.

Datuk Haji Abdul Aziz bin Ismail [ + ]

Datuk Haji Abdul Aziz bin Ismail graduated from Eastern Illinois University, USA with a Master of Business Administration. He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Information Systems from the Canberra University Australia on a Colombo Plan Scholarship. In 1993 he attended the Advanced Management Program at Wharton University of Pennsylvania, USA and participated in the INSEAD Advanced Management Programme at Fontainebleau, France in July 2005. Prior to joining LTAT, he was attached to the Auditor General’s Office of Malaysia from 1977 to May 1985. He held the post of Deputy Chief Executive of Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT) from January 2001 to 2011.

Maimoonah binte Mohamed Hussain graduated from University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Accountancy and was the Director, Debt & Capital Markets of Affin Bank Berhad prior to her appointment as Managing Director at Affin Investment Bank Berhad. Prior to this, she had been the Head of Syndications at Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore responsible for developing Standard Chartered Bank's debt syndications business for Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. She was also seconded to Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad for three years to develop the local as well as cross border debt business. She was prior thereto attached to Morgan Grenfell (Asia) Ltd. where she was involved in structured finance and project advisory across South East Asian markets.

Dato’ Mohamad Ayob bin Abu Hassan [ + ]

Dato’ Mohamad Ayob bin Abu Hassan graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Economics (Honours) from University of Malaya and MBA (Finance) from University of Hull. He is a holder of Capital Market Services Representative’s License. He began his banking career with Maybank Berhad in April 1978 and was selected to join Maybank’s International Department as a Foreign Exchange and Money Market Dealer in the same year. In May 1981, he was transferred to the Bank’s London Branch as a Senior Dealer and was subsequently made the London Branch Manager in January 1984. He returned to Malaysia in December 1985 and served Maybank until July 1987. Between August 1987 and July 1990, he ventured into several other business activities including financial services, construction and manufacturing. He joined Affin Merchant Bank in July 1990 as Manager in the Treasury Division. He was later appointed as General Manager of Corporate Recovery Division. His last position held at the Bank was as First Vice President, Treasury and Investment Division.
