Admiral Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abu Bakar Abdul Jamal (R) [ + ]

Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abu Bakar graduated from the Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, UK in 1968 and was commissioned as Sub-Lieutenant in the Royal Malaysian Navy ("RMN"). He started his naval career as an Executive Officer of KD Sri Sarawak and had served as the Commanding Officer of several RMN ships. During his 38 years of service, he had held several key appointments and positions in RMN and the Ministry of Defence. At the peak of his career, he held the highest post of the Chief of Navy in 1998. He was actively involved in several organisations namely LTAT, Koperasi Angkatan Tentera, Akademi Tentera Malaysia, Maritime Institute of Malaysia, Malaysia Logistic Institute and Football Association of Malaysia. Currently, he serves as an adviser and board member in several private limited organisations.

Dato’ Mohamed Idris holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies from the Slough College of Technologies (England) which he obtained in 1980. He was a graduate of the Air Command & Staff College, USAF Air University - USA and the Armed Forces Defence College, Kuala Lumpur. He joined the Royal Malaysian Air Force as a Pilot Officer and served for 35 years, in various executive positions within its Logistics Branch. He retired from the RMAF in 2000 as the Assistant Chief of Air Force (Materiel). He is a Fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Logistics. He currently sits on the board of Aeon Co. (M) Berhad.

Brig. Gen. Dato' Chen Kwee Fong (R) [ + ]

Dato' Chen Kwee Fong served 32 years in the Malaysian Armed Forces. He received his formal training in several military colleges such as Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, UK (1956-1958), Royal School of Military Engineering, Chatham, UK (1958-1959) and Army Staff College, Camberley, UK (1966). He had a distinguished career with the Malaysian Armed Forces, where he was appointed as Army Senior Engineer in 1978. He joined several member companies of Lion Group from 1988 to 2002. He also sits on the board of a member company of the Lion Group since 1995.

Dato' V. Danapalan holds a B.A. (Hons) from University Malaya and Masters in Public Administration from Pennsylvania State University, USA. He was previously the Chairman of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) until his retirement in March 2006. Prior to joining MCMC, he was a Senior Vice-President at the Multimedia Development Corporation Sdn. Bhd. Before this, he was the Secretary-General at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, a position he held from 1991 to 1998. He currently serves on the Board of Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST), Multimedia University (MMU), Sirim QAS Sdn. Bhd., Bank Simpanan Nasional, Telekom Malaysia Berhad and Tun Sambanthan Scholarship Board.

Brig. Gen. Dato' Mohd Hashim Haji Abu (R) [ + ]

Dato' Mohd Hashim joined the army and was commissioned into the Royal Engineer Regiment on 12 December 1965. During his 36 years of service, he participated in various operations and exercises demanding his expertise as a military engineer officer. He held various key appointments, namely, as Colonel Plans and Development in Army HQ, Director of Accommodation and Works in Armed Forces HQ and as Defence Advisor in the Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta. At the peak of his military career he held the rank of Brigadier General and was appointed as the Chief Engineer in the Armed Forces. He held this appointment for four and half years until his retirement in 2000.

Datuk Haji Abdul Aziz Ismail [ + ]

Datuk Haji Abdul Aziz is the Deputy Chief Executive of Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT), a post he assumed since January 2001. He graduated from Eastern Illinois University, USA with a Master of Business Administration. He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Information Systems from the Canberra University Australia on a Colombo Plan Scholarship. In 1993 he attended the Advanced Management Program at Wharton University of Pennsylvania, USA and participated in the INSEAD Advanced Management Programme at Fontainebleau, France in July 2005. Prior to joining LTAT, he was attached to the Auditor General’s Office of Malaysia from 1977 to May 1985. He is also a Director of Boustead Reit Managers Sdn. Bhd., DKSH Holdings (Malaysia) Berhad, Affin Moneybrokers Sdn. Bhd., Irat Hotel and Resorts Sdn. Bhd., Irat Properties Sdn. Bhd. and Ketengah Jaya Sdn. Bhd. and also as an alternate director of Badan Pengawas Pemegang Saham Minoriti Berhad.

Maimoonah graduated from University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Accountancy and was the Director, Debt & Capital Markets of Affin Bank Berhad prior to her appointment as Managing Director at Affin Investment Bank Berhad. Prior to this, she had been the Head of Syndications at Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore responsible for developing Standard Chartered Bank's debt syndications business for Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. She was also seconded to Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad for three years to develop the local as well as cross border debt business. She was prior thereto attached to Morgan Grenfell (Asia) Ltd. where she was involved in structured finance and project advisory across South East Asian markets.

Dato' Mohamad Ayob Abu Hassan [ + ]

Dato' Mohamad Ayob graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Economics (Honours) from University of Malaya and MBA (Finance) from University of Hull. He is a holder of Capital Market Services Representative's License. He began his banking career with Maybank Berhad in April 1978 and was selected to join Maybank's International Department as a Foreign Exchange and Money Market Dealer in the same year. In May 1981, he was transferred to the Bank's London Branch as a Senior Dealer and was subsequently made the London Branch Manager in January 1984. He returned to Malaysia in December 1985 and served Maybank until July 1987. Between August 1987 and July 1990, he ventured into several other business activities including financial services, construction and manufacturing. He joined Affin Merchant Bank in July 1990 as Manager in the Treasury Division. He was later appointed as General Manager of Corporate Recovery Division. His last position held at the Bank was as First Vice President, Treasury and Investment Division.
