Y.Bhg. Dato' V. Danapalan retired as the Chairman of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) since March 2006. Prior to joining MCMC, he was a Senior Vice-President at the Multimedia Development Corporation Sdn. Bhd. He started his career in the Malaysian Administrative and Diplomatic Service upon graduating from the University of Malaya in 1965. He then went on to serve in the Ministry of Education, Public Services Department and the Ministry of Social and Community Development before being appointed Secretary-General at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, a post he held from 1991 to 1998. In his capacity as Secretary-General, he also represented the country both regionally and internationally by chairing ASEAN Committees for Science and Technology, and the Environment and leading Malaysian delegations to the Meeting of Parties to the international conventions on Bio-Diversity and Ramsar as well as to Commission on Sustainable Development Meetings of the United Nations. He was also the Temporary President during the 19th Special Session of the United Nations General Assembly in June 1997, convened for the purpose of an overall review of the implementation of Agenda 21. Dato' Danapalan has a Masters in Public Affairs from Pennsylvania State University. Prior to his appointment as Director of AFMB, he was the Director of ATMB, then a subsidiary of AFMB. He currently serves on the Board of Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST), Sirim QAS Sdn Bhd, Pension Fund Inc and Bank Simpanan Nasional, Telekom Malaysia Berhad, Tun Sambanthan Scholarship Board and the Malaysian American Cultural and Educational Services Council.
Y.Bhg.Brig.Gen. Dato’ Mohd Hashim bin Haji Abu (R) who hails from Malacca had his secondary education at Malacca High School and the Royal Military College. He joined the army and was commissioned into the Royal Engineer Regiment on 12th December 1965. During his 36 years of service, he participated in various operations and exercises demanding his expertise as a military engineer officer. He held various key appointments, namely, as Colonel Plans and Development in Army HQ, Director of Accommodation and Works in Armed Forces HQ and as Defence Advisor in the Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta. A challenging project undertaken by Dato' Hashim during his tenure of office as the Director of Accommodation and Works, was the construction of 2000 units of married quarters for the Malaysian Army in Desa Tun Hussein Onn, in the vicinity of the Ministry of Defence complex. At the peak of his military career he held the rank of Brigadier General and was appointed as the Chief Engineer in the Armed Forces. He held this appointment for four and half years until his retirement in 2000. Prior to his appointment as Director of AFMB, he was the Director of ATMB, then a subsidiary of AFMB.
Mohd Mokhtar Bin Ghazali was the Chief Executive Officer of Boustead REIT Managers Sdn Bhd from 2007 to January 2009. He was the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Affin Discount Berhad from 1985 to 2006. He graduated from University of Malaya with a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) in 1974 and has held various positions in finance and investment with various established institutions such as Bank Negara, ESSO, Bank Bumiputera and Malaysia Discounts. He contributed immensely to the development and progress of the financial markets during his tenure as Chairman of the Association of Discount Houses from 1995 to 2000.

Datuk Haji Abdul Aziz Bin Ismail is the Deputy Chief Executive of LTAT, a post he assumed since January 2001. He graduated from Eastern Illinois University, USA with a Master of Business Administration. He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Information Systems from the Canberra University Australia. In 1993 he attended the Advanced Management Programme at Wharton University of Pennsylvania, USA and participated in the INSEAD Advanced Management Programme at Fontainebleau, France in July 2005. During his initial years with LTAT, he was Assistant Chief Executive of LTAT heading the Administration and Finance Division. He was appointed as the General Manager of Ex-Servicemen Affairs Corporation (PERHEBAT) from January 1995 till April 2001. Prior to joining LTAT, he was attached to the Auditor General's Office of Malaysia from 1977 to May 1985. His last position was a Senior Auditor. He has more than 20 years of experience in general finance and management. Prior to his appointment as Director of AFMB, he was the Director of ATMB, then a subsidiary of AFMB. He is also a Director of Boustead REIT Managers Sdn Bhd, DKSH Holdings (Malaysia) Berhad, Affin Moneybrokers Sdn Bhd, Irat Hotel and Resorts Sdn Bhd, Irat Properties Sdn Bhd and Ketengah Jaya Sdn Bhd and also as an alternate director of Badan Pengawas Pemegang Saham Minoriti Berhad.
Puan Maimoonah Binti Mohamed Hussain, the Managing Director of Affin Investment Bank Berhad was appointed to the Board of Affin Fund Management Berhad as a Non-Independent Director on 17 August 2007. She graduated from University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Accountancy and was the Director, Debt & Capital Market of Affin Bank Berhad prior to her appointment at Affin Investment. Prior to this, she had been the Head of Syndications at Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore responsible for developing Standard Chartered Bank's debt syndications business for Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. She was also seconded to Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad for three years to develop the local as well as cross border debt business. She was prior thereto attached to Morgan Grenfell (Asia) Ltd where she was involved in structured finance and project advisory across South East Asian markets. She serves as a Director on the Board of Affin Investment Bank Berhad, Merchant Nominees Tempatan Sdn. Bhd, Affin Nominees (Tempatan) Sdn. Bhd. and Affin Nominees (Asing) Sdn Bhd.

Dr. Mohamed Aslam bin Haneef is a Professor at the Department of Economics, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He received his PhD from the School of Development Studies, University of East Anglia, UK and he also holds a Master of Economics from the University of Malaya and B.Econs (Hons.) from the IIUM. He was the Head of Department between 1996-1999 and was also visiting scholar at Georgetown University, USA and University of Oxford, UK. He has published books and articles and conducted research in various areas of Islamic economics and is also involved in numerous executive training programs, specialising in Islamic economics and banking.
